    Hi!

I’m Jean, and I’m a content manager at Village Bakery. The owner and writer, Joe, is a baking enthusiast who shares baking tips, tricks, and recipes on his site, in order to help anyone who wants to learn more about baking!!

Do you accept guest posts on your site? I’m reaching out because we would like to pitch a topic that both Joe and I think your audience would like. We’re planning to write an article entitled:

Article Title: 3 Decadent Spring Desserts to Bake This Weekend

Description: Spring is right around the corner. What better way to celebrate the warmer weather than by baking decadent, floral and fruit inspired desserts. In this post, we’ll share three dessert recipes that are as delicious as they are beautiful.

You can find some examples of great guest posts that we’ve done in the past:

    https://cakejournal.com/tools/redefine-baking-5-healthy-ingredients-add-homemade-bread/

Please let me know if you think the topic would be a good fit for your site, and we’ll get right on it. I can suggest some others as well.

Thanks so much and I look forward to hearing from you!

    Cheers,

    Jean Hughes

    Hi Anne.
We met in the oh-so-long ago.
Saw and appreciated your piece in MN Med. Sorry to hear that you felt driven to leave the profession, though your reasons are clear and all too familiar to those still inside the ring.
If you still live where you used to live, then we’re still close by, so stop by some time. Just beware the chiseled fangs of Varna, the sleepy and timid guard dog.

    • anne says:

      Hey Craig!

Thanks for reaching out. Yes, we wave at you and your family when we’re driving past. Hope you are all well. The chiseled fangs sound quite delightful.

My stethoscope is not quite resting, but I am (trying) to be in control!

I read your article in Minn.Med. It was certainly full of facts. I personally feel that EMR were the biggest disaster to modern medicine. They so have destroyed the healthcare provider experience. Nurses spend 50% of their time doing data entry. This was totally the insistence of politicians, and enacted by them. That know nothing about medicine, and most of them are lawyers and you will notice their client files are paper.
I sent an email to the physician author of this last Minn.Med. congratulating him.
No reply from him,but got a note from a secretary asking to publish my comments edited first, but I declined.
Corporate Medicine has taken over our profession, and the days of solo practice and small physician groups are fading into the sunset because of insurance companies and government regulations.
Patients are very disgusted with medicine as it is today because there is no continuity in their care.
Physicians should “unionize” but that will never happen.
Would not like to start over again!!

    Hi Anne,

I loved your article in Journal of the MMA. It was spot on! Many of us are waiting for the “revolution”. Hope you and your family are happy and healthy. I am still with HE and STILL get pts that talk about how great Dr Pemberton was! Tough shoes to fill indeed.
    Take care!
    Amy Medley

    • anne says:

Amy – so great to hear from you! I hope you and yours are doing well. I’ll let my sweetie know about the nice comments. Anne

    Hi Anne,

I am a lactation consultant at ANW and wanted to provide the updated information for our program.

We are now located in The Mother Baby Center; rooms MB4603 and MB4605. Phone number is correct, 612-863-4638. We provide outpatient consultations 7 days a week from 8-430. Our team is now 5 board certified lactation consultants (IBCLC).

    Loved your listing.

  8. Laura Johnson says:

    Hello Anne,
I received your post throuugh fb. I am the former manager at Hiawath clinic (before Mary Lynn). I found your writing spot-on as to what I am seeing happen to my friends.
I remember you being full of energy, completely dedicated to your patients, and ready to take on the world. I’m so sorry it cannot be through direct patient care but it is clear you are continuing to make a difference. You have my support for the much needed “revolution”. I’m also reminded of an important lesson taught in the movie “A Bugs Life” when the chief grass hopper throws a few grains of rice at him and asks, “Did that hurt?” When the underling’s report is negative, the boss opens a door to the storage shaft and millions of grains bury him.
The only way to affect change is through unification. You go girl!
By the way, I have not changed one bit. Well, a few extra pounds and some wrinkles, but otherwise still the same.
I am looking forward to reading more of your writing.
    Laura

    • anne says:

Hi Laura! I’m delighted to hear from you! Thanks for reading and for your support. I agree, the only way we’re going to make a difference is if we’re together.

  9. Anne Claussen says:

It was great to meet another Anne at the Loft YA conference this weekend and to discuss our books! I’m now subscribed to your blog, and will be interested to see what topics were sparked by the conference!

    • anne says:

Hooray for another Anne-with-an-E! I’m still processing the conference – will spit out my digested thoughts in a couple weeks.

  10. Loie says:

Hey, Anne. Mary Lynn Oglesbee forwarded your blog to me. Amazing writing. Thought I’d send a “hi” your way before signing up. Fondly, Loie.

  13. Stevie says:

    Greetings!

Your website truly inspires and intrigues my inner writer! I attempted to “join” and when I “clicked” on the link provided on my e-mail inbox I received a “page not found” reply. Would you be so kind as to elucidate a possible solution to this problem?

    Kindest regards,

    Your olde friend Stevie Meister

    • anne says:

Hi Stevie! Thanks for letting me know. Animal testing of the site provided feedback of limited utility. Here is a sampling of the comments: “eeeeerrrereeeeeewweeeeee”, “asfgjk’”, “ccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccccc”. I’m delighted to have some beta testing with an actual human and will look into the issue forthwith.

Nice work!!! It’s fun to read your stories. The comments about the dollhouse furniture brought back memories.
Beloved Henry. He will always be missed.
    Love,
